My husband is really enjoying his new Braun easy clean electric shaver. He told me he was impressed by the close smooth shave and the ease of cleaning. I used the trimmer to trim his neck and noticed how sharp it was and how quick it made the job. Also it was comfortable and light in my hand I give it 2 thumbs up. Happy we purchased it. Price was very goood.

I have always used a norelco shaver and it always left the underside of my chin with a red rash. I thought I would try a Braun shaver and I love it. I am getting a close shave and no red rash. I have found my new razor for me. I will never go back to

exactly what I needed
I get a closer shave with this thing than I’ve been able to get wet-shaving (presumably because I can make multiple passes against the grain), if perhaps not quite as close as my previous Series 9. I like the fact that it doesn’t have the wobbly head all the higher series have; my neck and wrist and fingers are quite capable of adjusting the angle between shaver and face.
I am unconvinced so far about the “rinse clean without taking the cartridge off” feature, especially since the instructions seem to call for taking the cartridge off anyway to let it dry… but also because when I did take it off and rinse it the way I normally would, I got a bunch of hair that hadn’t rinsed with it on. Taking the cartridge off does NOT have a button or latch or whatsit like my old Series 9 did; the fittings for that seem reasonably robust, but I’ll have to see how they stand up to being put on and taken off daily.
I had previously been using a 2-1/2-year-old Braun Series 9 – its power button popped-out without warning, and is apparently not repairable without buying sketchy bits (and I was never all that happy with that shaver for its price). This Series 5 was a quarter the price of a new S9, and even if the whole shaver only lasts a year it will be cheaper than any wet-shave supplies other than MAYBE double-edge safety razors.

Best electric razor I’ve ever used!
I am completely blown away! I have been using norelco electric shavers for years. This Braun is far far better. I used it for the first time this morning and got a razor smooth shave on my entire face and neck in five minutes. I have NEVER gotten a shave this smooth from my norelco razor ever, even with brand new norelco branded replacement blades. This Braun razor IS WORTH EVERY DIME!!!

As good as a blade, but no pop up.
As close as a blade. Closer than my old Remington. Wish the trimmer was a pop up instead of swap out, but I already have a stand-alone.
