Tasty, but took a while to cook fully
These are super tasty!
I will say, however, that they took much longer than 25 minutes to cook. IDK what I did wrong, but I simmered these for 35 minutes (covered), let them stand 15 minutes (covered), and the big potatoes were still crunchy. I had to cook them for an additional 15 minutes to get them nice and tender. This isn’t a big deal and I’ll buy and make these again, but it took me over an hour to cook them.
With that said, I am not a stellar cook and definitely could have done something wrong. IDK what as the instructions are concise and clear, but something was happening lol.

I have a very picky child who only eats certain things…this thankfully made her list of good. I personally think they are decent, the sauce tastes nice, and it is very simple to cook. The only issue I have is that the potatoes dont really soften up the way I would like to..next time I will just cook it a few minutes longer. I think that overall it is a pretty good simple addition to a meal or the meal itself or just a snack ????

Always have these on hand!!
I prefer au gratin to scalloped potatoes any day. And great value au gratin to the name brands. My only issue is that there’s not enough in a box. These should be at least twice the size to make enough to have a side for my family of three. Recently had the idea to make this as one would hamburger helper and it was great. The fact that I need to cook at least three boxes for a meal is sort of inconvenient. With the price going up is less economical than it once was.

Using some imagination, you can add meat to these Au Gratin potatoes, as well as frozen vegetables, turning it into a delicious meal. I chopped up two ham steaks into two boxes of these Au Gratin potatoes. It turned out a very good meal. You can also try mixing in cooked hamburger meat and frozen vegetables to make a delicious dish.
